Inside the RoleThe Operational Excellence team is a catalyst towards driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Our success is built on a strong foundation of collaboration, best practice sharing, and teamwork. The Lean Consultant Coach collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvement projects across organization. Most importantly, they support the development of lean consultants to sustain lean processes, tools and techniques.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500 – $126,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

WHAT YOU DRIVE AT DTNA
Train and coach team members on lean manufacturing concepts and tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SWIs, OEE, Visual Management, etc.)
Coach and develop lean consultant candidates (trainees) within the Lean Consultant Qualification Program (LCQP) guidelines.
Consistently market and advertise the LCQP. Including building the trainee pipeline while identifying and coaching potential lean candidates.
Implement lean manufacturing principles, tools, and techniques to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
Engage in continuously improving the LCQP through conducting Lean Consultant (LC) interviews, participating in quarterly LC reviews, being active in regular monthly trainer meetings, and other work-packages focused on improving the program.
Develop of comprehensive project plans that outline project goals, timelines, budget and resource allocation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (both direct and indirect) to identify and implement improvement projects across the organization.
Demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication skills for effective and efficient communication
Develop and implement performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of lean manufacturing initiatives and track progress towards goals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest lean manufacturing techniques and tools.
Develop a TOS project/activity prioritization structure and plan
Commit to a lifelong learning process that openly approaches new topics, people and environments.
KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD BRING
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college in technical field, Project Management, Management, or Business.
Minimum 1 year of coaching and training teams to improve operational processes and drive continuous improvement
Continuous improvement/change orientated mindset (willingness to challenge the status quo)
Certified Lean Consultant through Daimler Lean Consultant Qualification Program; Certification itself is required, but having 2-3 years of experience post-certification would be beneficial
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Flexibility/ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment
2 years of experience developing working allocations, appraising utilization and driving optimizations
Ability to quickly understand complex processes and problems with limited data, as well as teach that complex knowledge to others.
Ability to create an environment where all employees feel welcome and belonging
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
High level of oral and written communication skills for effective and efficient communication
Strong presentation skills, both vocal and written
EXCEPTIONAL CANDIDATES MIGHT HAVE
5-7 years of relevant experience preferred
Willingness to travel (up to 3 months) for training/lean qualification
Strong inner independence with the ability to act independently of others
