As an OTR Driver Recruiter, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and recruiting qualified over-the-road drivers to meet the companyâ s staffing needs. You will play a key role in ensuring that we attract skilled, reliable, and safety-conscious drivers who will contribute to the success and growth of our organization.Key Responsibilities:
Source and recruit qualified OTR drivers through various channels, including job boards, social media, industry events, and direct outreach.
Conduct interviews and assess candidatesâ driving experience, safety record, and suitability for the companyâ s needs.
Collaborate with hiring managers and operations teams to understand driver staffing requirements and align recruitment strategies accordingly.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the companyâ s policies, procedures, and driver compensation packages to effectively communicate with candidates.
Screen and review driver applications, conduct background checks, and verify driving credentials, including driving records, medical certifications, and DOT compliance.
Manage the driver recruitment pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of qualified candidates for open positions.
Guide candidates through the hiring process, from initial contact to onboarding, ensuring a smooth and positive candidate experience.
Coordinate with the training and safety departments to ensure drivers meet all regulatory requirements and company standards.
Develop and maintain relationships with driving schools, associations, and other industry organizations to expand the candidate pool.
Monitor industry trends and adjust recruiting strategies to remain competitive in attracting top driver talent.
Track and report on recruiting metrics, such as time-to-fill, candidate quality, and sourcing effectiveness.
Ensure all recruiting practices comply with federal and state regulations, including DOT and FMCSA requirements.Requirements:
Proven experience as a recruiter in the transportation or logistics industry, specifically recruiting over-the-road (OTR) drivers.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, CDL requirements, and the transportation industry's hiring standards.
Strong understanding of sourcing strategies for OTR driver candidates, including digital platforms, job boards, and social media.
Excellent interviewing and communication skills, with the ability to assess driver qualifications and experience accurately.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple recruiting efforts simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in recruitment software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and MS Office Suite.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.Preferred Qualifications:
