Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Services:

Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients of all ages.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.

Provide psychotherapy, as appropriate, or collaborate with licensed therapists for psychotherapy services.

Collaboration and Integration:

Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team approach to care.

Participate in integrated care initiatives, ensuring coordination between behavioral health and medical services.

Be on call for medication consultation 24/7. On rotation with other medical providers within behavioral health.

Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Ensure compliance with FQHC policies, HIPAA regulations, and state and federal requirements.

Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification/board eligibility in Psychiatry.

Minimum 2-3 years of direct clinical experience in psychiatric care, preferably with a focus on children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-25).

Active and unrestricted medical license in CT

Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment.

Experience:

Previous experience working in community health settings or with underserved populations preferred.

Familiarity with integrated care models and team-based care is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong diagnostic and treatment skills for a wide range of mental health conditions.

Ability to deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
