Rothschild & Co – Procurement Department

The Group Procurement function helps the business successfully buy goods and services, ensuring qualified suppliers are selected, value for money is secured, robust contracts are agreed, and any risks are understood and mitigated.

We ensure adherence to evolving regulatory guidance and reflect the group’s desire to manage third parties in a consistent manner. The team works alongside Third-Party Relationship Sponsors (principle business owners) to select, onboard, manage and offboard third parties.

Role Overview

Rothschild & Co is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Group Procurement team. They will take the lead on tenders, negotiations and other commercial processes, ensuring that we complete all activities in-line with regulatory requirements and group processes. This role will have a particular focus on IT Procurement, however we will cover most indirect spend categories and variety is guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Complete end-to-end strategic sourcing processes for higher value and risk services, in collaboration with business owners and business SME’s – ensuring robust and valuable vendor selection processes are completed and approved by senior management.

Negotiate with third parties from the tender stage through to contract completion, ensuring value for money is secured, risk is identified and mitigated, and that our minimum standards are incorporated.

Influence colleagues across the EMEA region to ensure Procurement are involved with all significant purchases at the earliest opportunity.

Support Procurement’s drive to be proactive: Identify opportunities to apply category management principles. Consolidate vendors, tender existing services, negotiate with incumbents and other value-add activities.

Complete our standard due diligence processes for the third parties in question, as well as support colleagues in the team with Third Party Risk Management activities when required.

Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, including IT, Legal, and Compliance, to address third-party risks and issues both pre and post-contract.

Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on the full spectrum of third party-related matters, including acting as an escalation point and helping resolve issues .

Beyond these key responsibilities, there will be scope to progress agendas of interest that we agree would be beneficial to the group, and contribute to the Procurement team’s plans to leverage the latest technologies.

Experience

Applicants will need at least several years of procurement experience and be comfortable working with a variety of different indirect service types and commercial models. It is essential that experience of SaaS purchasing can be evidenced, that you are comfortable negotiating and collaborating with tech firms and you know what is required to execute contracts. Experience of buying AI-enabled applications would be helpful but not mandatory.

You will have some experience of Third-Party Risk Management and the work that is required in highly regulated industries to assure and manage the supply chain. As part of a small team, It is important that you are willing to flex and work on anything third-party related that becomes a priority.

The most important qualities for this role will be a service ethos, a high level of conscientiousness to produce complete and accurate work, an ability to deliver medium-complexity procurement initiatives with autonomy, and to naturally flex your style depending on the experience and expectations of different stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to establish relationships with colleagues across the business, up to Partner level, and the support they need to take ownership of their growth and development in the role and function.

If you can speak French or German to a business standard, it would be an advantage, but it’s not mandatory.
