We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a dynamic commercial real estate company in Santa Clarita, California. This role offers the opportunity to lead critical accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the executive team by delivering actionable insights and maintaining effective financial controls.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of banking, accounting, and financial reporting for a multi-entity real estate portfolio.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Oversee cash flow projections, budgeting processes, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Collaborate with third-party property managers, tax accountants, and consultants to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
• Maintain strict controls over company bank accounts and financial transactions.
• Provide strategic insights to the executive team by delivering focused and timely financial information.
• Coordinate with lenders, partners, and service providers to meet financial and reporting requirements.
• Supervise and review property-level and entity-level accounting activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and proactively address financial challenges.• A minimum of 10 years of experience in all aspects of commercial real estate accounting.
• Proven experience managing accounting responsibilities in a multi-entity real estate environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
• Demonstrated success working with third-party property managers and financial consultants.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software systems, including MRI and other relevant tools.
• Experience in entrepreneurial or family office environments is highly desirable.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
