Job Summary

Responsible for the supervision, direction and administration of company policies, procedures, practices and programs, related to the acquisition, disposal, leasing, licenses, mineral leases, maintenance and utilization of company owned real estate ensuring the maximum return for the organization.

Supervise the acquisition, disposal, leasing, maintenance and utilization of company owned real estate and mineral holdings. This position consults with and/or advises the Real Estate Asset Management Manager, Project Managers and other AEP business units.

This person will be responsible for overseeing work activity in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Supervise and assist in activities associated with the acquisition of land and land rights, title work, surveys, environmental audits and other activities necessary for the completion of approved property purchases, leases or sales.

Provide oversight of the leasing of company owned real estate to third parties for proper utilization and maximum return.

Coordinate and assist third party service providers in any or all of the above tasks.

Oversee and assist agents with negotiations and granting of easements for various types of rights on company owned real estate.

Collaborate with the Records group as well as internal and external legal advisors to ensure that contract language is appropriate and complete and property files are current and accurate.

Ensure that the inventory and inspection of properties is performed and AEP' real estate holdings are well maintained, safe, and environmentally compliant.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business or real estate management, or an associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant work experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.

Work Experience:

In addition to experience required above, eight (8) years' experience in real estate, contracts or business with 4 years' experience in supervision.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demand level is Sedentary

Requires knowledge of real estate documents and processes regarding purchases, sales, easements and leases.

Strong negotiation skills.

Ability to work with various business units.

Good communication skills

Proficient in the Microsoft Suite (MS Teams is a plus)

Ability to work with various applications

Compensation Grade:

SP20-009

Compensation Range:

$112,869.00-146,730.50 USD

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
