Quality Control (QC) Manager - Civil Construction
Join a team that's building the infrastructure of tomorrow. As a Quality Control Manager on our civil construction team, you'll be a critical leader in ensuring that every aspect of construction meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. From bridges and rail systems to wastewater treatment plants and roadways, you'll oversee quality across all phases of large-scale infrastructure projects-while shaping a high-performing QC culture.
What You'll Do:
Lead the implementation of the project-specific Quality Control Plan, including the "Three Phases of Control" process
Partner with the project team to ensure contract drawings and specifications are fully understood and executed
Coordinate closely with the owner, designers, contractors, and third-party testing agents to maintain schedule and quality expectations
Manage all QC-related documentation, including submittals, approvals, testing procedures, and compliance records
Conduct and lead quality control meetings-Preparatory, Initial Phase, and Follow-up inspections
Track and manage the deficiency log, punch list items, and corrective actions through project closeout
Oversee the final turnover process, including training, O&M manuals, and client handover deliverables
Support recruitment and development of top QC talent and mentor junior team members
Communicate regularly with executive leadership, contributing to strategic project insights and continuous improvement
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field-or equivalent hands-on experience
5-8+ years of verified experience in construction quality control or inspection, preferably in civil infrastructure
Proven expertise in QC plans, submittals, RFIs, third-party testing, and inspections on complex, large-scale projects
Strong working knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes
Ability to lead a team of inspectors and QC support staff
Exceptional communication skills with a talent for aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared vision
Demonstrated ability to drive results, take ownership, and uphold the highest quality standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DOT, USACE, or large public works projects
Prior success managing QA/QC on bridges, rail, roadways, or treatment facilities
Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam)
OSHA 30 or USACE CQC certification
Strong understanding of independent materials testing coordination and lab reporting
