Arbuckle Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Boasting a new hospital in 2011, AMH has a 24-hour emergency room, which is staffed by ER physicians and designated as a Level IV Trauma Center. The hospital serves over 12,000 patients annually. AMH treats over 7,000 emergencies each year including heart attack and stroke patients. The hospital has four admitting physicians including three employed physicians and a contractor. Additionally, AMH operates a full-service clinic on campus, which as 15 exam rooms, two physicians, and three nurse practitioners. The hospital is supported by a one cent county sales tax.

Full-Time and Part-Time Shifts Available

Arbuckle Memorial Hospital has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The task or duties assigned to this job could affect the safety and health of the employee or others.

JOB SUMMARY:

A clinically competent, licensed practical nurse who delivers care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing for the age groups served.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduated from a state accredited school of nursing.

Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Life Support (BLS certificate required upon hire.

Successful completion of the following courses:

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), recommended

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), recommended

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations.

Demonstrates adequate vision or correctable with glasses to read and write.

Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.

Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.

Able to frequently lift at least 25 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.

Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, start IV's, administer medications, and handle instruments).

Able to work in latex burdened environment.
