SR. MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities include development and implementation of best practices and new processes, identifying and driving process improvements, ownership of new product launches, serving as a technical expert for the company and customers, leadership and mentoring of less experienced peers, and new equipment and process specification and design. The candidate for this position must have demonstrated the application of best practices and lessons learned, complex mechatronics design / quoting / implementation experience, process development, value stream mapping and improvement, and creativity to develop World Class Processes with our Operations, Tool & Die, QA, HR, and Facilities teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer utilizes complex data analysis techniques to identify and correct process variances.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer represents the Check-Mate Engineering organization.
as a technical leader on projects to internal and external customers.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer leads and manages teams during product and process development.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer provides operations and supplier support domestically and internationally.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer leads and participates in design reviews, owning and resolving action items.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer interacts with senior external personnel (customers / suppliers) on significant technical matters requiring coordination within and between organizations.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer must have thorough understanding of ERP systems including process specific data collection, validation, and presentation.
Key expectations for this position include high level problem solving, along with technical leadership in the development of new processes. Senior manufacturing engineers will be required to make sound technical decisions, provide mentoring and leadership to junior engineers, and manage expenses and requirements of assigned tasks.
This position will require effective communications with other engineers, tooling designers, maintenance, operators, engineers from other disciplines, along with line and program management and Customers, and our Executive Team.Minimum Requirements:
B.S. degree in Systems, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent manufacturing education and experience
7+ years’ experience in technical process support of manufacturing operations
High Level project management, value stream metric analysis, process control
5+ years Solving complex technical problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
5+ years’ Mechanical design, analysis, and documentation of tooling and processes
Experience with Metal Stamping, Fabrication, Assembly and Tooling
Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively (verbal, written, and electronic) to all levels of the organization
A3 Communication or other CER / Project justification methods
Completely qualified with MS Office, ERP systems, 3D modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo). CNC machine operation and / or setup a plus.
Proven project leadership / planning / communication – must give specific examples
Problem solving skills and familiarity with multiple methods are a must – Shainin / L6S / 5-Why / PDCA
Attention to detail and time management, deadline driven
Must be able to thrive in a team setting with cross functional teams
Must be able to handle multiple projects and maintain deadlines for same
