Job Title: Control Systems Designer Location: Houston, TX (Onsite Work Model) Employment Type: Temporary (Full-Time) Period: Short-term Contract (3-4 months) Position Summary: As a Control Systems Designer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and overseeing the execution of robust control systems.
You will provide leadership to a dedicated team of designers and drafters, ensuring adherence to engineering standards while optimizing processes for exceptional project delivery.
You will work on a variety of projects that drive the advancement of technology in natural gas processing, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and more.
Key Responsibilities: Provide operational supervision and technical guidance to designers and drafters, ensuring project tasks align with overall objectives and timelines.
Prepare and oversee the development of layouts, detailed 2-D and 3-D CAD models, and construction drawings, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Develop work plans that estimate material quantities, design deliverables, and staffing needs to meet project milestones.
Monitor compliance with engineering codes and standards, contributing to the design quality and safe operation of facilities.
Conduct job site visits to resolve technical issues and interpret design documentation.
Collaborate with project engineers and technical specialists to ensure effective communication and integration of design efforts.
Lead on-the-job training for team members, conduct performance reviews, and foster an environment of continuous development.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Standard Application Programs (SAPs) pertinent to the role.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Completion of specialized courses in drafting, design, engineering practices, or a degree in a relevant field.
Significant experience in design and drafting, alongside personnel management.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and exhibits.
Familiarity with industry and regulatory standards applicable to the discipline.
Additional Qualifications: Expertise in 2-D and 3-D CAD tools, with demonstrated proficiency in Microstation, SmartSketch, and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI). Experience with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and capability to produce technical documentation independently.
Previous involvement in projects within natural gas processing (liquefaction/regasification), petrochemical production, hydrogen value chains, or similar markets.
Experience in supervising and leading teams on FEEDs (Front-End Engineering Design) or project proposals is a plus.
