Head of Software Development

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking and Head of Software Development for shaping the Spotware products technology vision, driving architecture and platform scalability, and ensuring best-in-class execution for our trading solution.

The Head of Software Development will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects, from product architecture to engineering excellence, while ensuring alignment with business goals.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, hands-on technical experience and a deep understanding of trading platforms, real-time systems, fintech environments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Define and execute the company’s technology strategy in alignment with its business objectives.

Collaborate with the executive leadership team to drive innovation, growth, and competitive advantage.

Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance product offerings and operational efficiency.

Technical Oversight:

Stay ahead of fintech trends, algorithmic trading systems, and market infrastructure evolution to maintain competitive advantage.

Guide the development of high-performance, low-latency, and resilient trading system.

Lead software development, infrastructure, architecture, cybersecurity, and IT operations.

Oversee technology selection, system design, and product development life cycle.

Ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance architecture across platforms and services.

Platform Oversight:

Oversee technical roadmap, product feasibility, and time-to-market efficiency.

Oversee architecture and infrastructure of our trading platform including order management, market data, risk management, APIs, and client interfaces.

Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering and DevOps teams to develop new trading features and improve platform efficiency.

Team Management:

Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering and IT team.

Promote engineering excellence through code quality standards, testing practices, peer reviews, and CI/CD workflows.

Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all technical teams.

Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as a key voice in technical and product strategy discussions with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Communicate technology vision, roadmap, and progress to internal stakeholders and board members.

Present technical concepts and updates to non-technical stakeholders including executive leadership and the board.

Core Qualifications

Experience (10+ years) in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within fintech or trading technology.

Proven success in designing and scaling real-time trading platforms (e.g., FX, equities, crypto, derivatives).

Strong background in system architecture, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure), and modern development practices.

Strong knowledge of:

Electronic trading protocols (FIX, WebSockets, REST)

Market microstructure and algorithmic trading

Risk management, order matching, market data feeds

Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Experience in.scaling tech teams and systems in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.

Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus).
