Title: Indirect Material Buyer Job Location: On-site Gainesville, GA
We are seeking a highly motivated Indirect Material Buyer to join our Global Project Purchasing team. The ideal candidate will focus on the procurement of purchased goods and services to support the company’s operations.Key Responsibilities
The Indirect Buyer is responsible for managing supplier relationships and procuring goods and services to support business operations while minimizing costs, working closely with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, negotiating contracts, resolving procurement issues, and drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic supplier management.
Lead overall indirect material procurement process, including RFQ, statements of work, contract management, and vendor set-up.
Ensure the usage of defined procurement methods, processes, and systems to maintain high process efficiency and compliance.
Monitor market conditions to decide on the optimum sourcing strategy and collaborate with the best suppliers for assigned commodities and local requirements.
Prepare and conduct negotiations for medium-to-high purchasing volumes to achieve the highest feasible savings.
Responsible for developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
Research and qualify new suppliers, especially for local requirements.
Conduct market analysis to identify cost savings opportunities and supplier innovation.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery and sustainability criteria.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align with strategic purchasing in Germany.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical procurement practices
Assess and mitigate risks in the supply chain to protect business continuity
Provide periodic reporting of key performance metrics and supplier service level metrics
Maintain in-depth knowledge of suppliers, their capabilities, key personnel, and order fulfillment processes.
Ensure accurate purchasing data is maintained within SAP ERP and optimize purchasing decisions based on cost-effectiveness.
Expedite orders as needed and manage issues related to rejections or discrepancies with suppliers.
Monitor open orders and other key metrics to ensure timely delivery of indirect goods and services.
Notify internal teams of any potential shipment delays and propose alternative solutions to meet demand.
Manage supplier communications to maintain clear and effective business relationships. QualificationsEducation/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or technical field and/or any combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, abilities have been achieved; required.
7 years Indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management required.Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with advanced skills in Excel.
Proficient in procurement software and tools (e.g. SAP ERP).
Well-developed communication skills; able to clearly and concisely express information to customers, peers, and management.
Ability to interact with multiple customers/divisions.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills required.
Flexible, anticipate and adjust readily to new situations while effectively dealing with ambiguity, stress, and uncertainty.
Demonstrates the mental agility to acquire new concepts rapidly and has an aptitude for learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently to achieve desired results.
Excellent analytical capability required.
Exceptional organizational skills required.
Professional certifications are a plus.
Flexibility and willingness for domestic or international travel is up to 20%.
Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes.
