At Solstice Senior Living at Guilford, we are an independent living retirement community dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming environment for our residents. Our culinary team plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through delicious, nutritious meals that are made from scratch in house daily. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our team! Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve all food items and meals according to planned menus and recipes, ensuring they are palatable and appetizing.
Assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, and events.
Follow all sanitary regulations and health-related protocols in food preparation and service.
Collaborate with kitchen and dining room staff, providing assistance as needed.
Perform opening, closing, and side work as assigned.
Properly label, date, and store all leftovers, and dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
Ensure that all staff arrive and depart at scheduled times as posted.Work Experience Qualifications:
Previous experience of at least 2 years as a cook in a restaurant, catering, or similar setting is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
Ability to prepare a variety of cuisines and accommodate dietary restrictions.
Ability to make independent decisions and work without supervision.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Culinary degree is a plus but not required.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Must pass a background check and drug screen before hiring.Benefits:
