Position Overview: As the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end talent acquisition process for SMTC's electronics manufacturing operations. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing talent acquisition strategies, managing a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists, and collaborating with all levels of management to meet the company's recruitment needs. Additionally, you will be actively involved in strategic workforce planning to ensure the company's talent needs align with its long-term goals.
Duties:
Own and manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions across all U.S. locations (Melbourne, Boston, Fremont), balancing high-volume direct labor (DL) hiring with targeted indirect labor (IDL) and SGA recruiting.
Serve as the primary recruitment partner to site leadership, HR Business Partners, and hiring managers, providing strategic support on workforce planning and hiring decisions.
Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies that proactively build pipelines for key roles and support business growth objectives.
Maintain and oversee applicant tracking system (ADP Workforce Now) workflows, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and timely candidate movement.
Lead employer branding initiatives, including social media postings, job fair coordination, university outreach, and local community engagement to enhance SMTC’s talent brand.
Manage agency partnerships, including onboarding, negotiating rates, ensuring accountability, and minimizing external spend through proactive sourcing.
Track, analyze, and report recruitment KPIs (e.g., time-to-fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance rates) and present insights and recommendations to leadership.
Coach hiring managers on effective interview practices, candidate evaluation, and compliance with hiring best practices.
Negotiate and extend employment offers, aligning with internal compensation structures and ensuring competitive packages.
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience, acting as the main point of contact from first outreach through offer and onboarding.
Administer recruitment incentive programs (e.g., bonuses for DL, IDL, and SGA hires) and maintain accurate tracking for payment eligibility.
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, internal policies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Travel quarterly to either the Boston, MA or Fremont, CA site, alternating trips to maintain strong partnerships and organizational visibility.
Participate in HR team meetings and collaborate cross-functionally to align recruiting efforts with broader HR and business strategies.
Education and Experience for the Talent Acquisition Manager:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
Master’s degree, preferred
Certifications in Talent Acquisition or HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) are a plus.
5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, including 3+ years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing talent acquisition strategies.
Strong knowledge of the electronics manufacturing industry and talent trends.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in HRIS, ATS, and other relevant recruitment tools.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Proven track record in building successful and diverse candidate pipelines.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and manage multiple priorities.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
Frequently moves within office areas to access files, equipment, and other resources.
Regularly operates a computer and office machinery, including copy machines and printers.
Occasionally positions self to retrieve or place items in file cabinets or other storage areas.
Must be able to communicate effectively to convey information and exchange ideas with internal and external contacts.
May need to move or transport items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Travel may be around 10% of the time
