Role Overview

Jumpmind is seeking a skilled and dynamic Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between technical capabilities and client needs. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for creating tailored software demonstrations, contributing to product enhancement, and effectively communicating technical details to diverse audiences. This individual will work closely with the sales, product development, and engineering teams to deliver compelling presentations and ensure client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Demonstrations and Configuration:

Customize and configure Jumpmind's software solutions to align with specific client requirements for sales demonstrations.

Brand software interfaces and workflows to reflect client use cases and scenarios.

Product Collaboration:

Interface with the core development team to submit requests for feature enhancements and bug fixes discovered during pre-sales activities.

Log and document new feature ideas arising from customer interactions into the product roadmap.

Technical Expertise and Presentations:

Conduct technical presentations for prospects, covering system architecture, integration options, and platform capabilities.

Explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner tailored to the audience.

Develop technical diagrams and slides for presentations.

Travel:

Travel to client sites for demonstrations, presentations, and consultations approximately once per month.

Required Technical Skills

Proficiency in Java, Typescript, SQL, Git, HTML, and CSS.

Familiarity with modern software architectures, especially microservices and cloud-native platforms.

Knowledge of web development frameworks and responsive design principles.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or related technical role.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot software issues effectively.

Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, capable of addressing both technical and non-technical audiences.

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.

Preferred Skills

Experience in the retail technology space, including familiarity with POS systems, inventory management, or clienteling solutions.

Exposure to enterprise software sales processes and techniques.

Experience with API integrations and data synchronization tools.
