Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Operates Truck with tank trailer to provides water to sprayers

Operates a motor vehicle as transportation, to perform required work such as Scouting and Inspecting assigned fields for Coffee leaf rust and Coffee Berry Borer.

Ability Operates a various tractor with various interchangeable attachments to perform required work such as spraying, and Air blasting.

Provides direction to Senior orchard workers/Equipment operators.

Responsible for mixing pesticides, wearing required personal protective equipment, and pre inspections of equipment.TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

Tractors, pruner, motor vehicle, Trailers, UTV, tractor attachments, knapsack sprayer/mister, hand tools, personal protective equipment, CBB/CLR related equipment, and two-way radio.MATERIALS

Fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals, petroleum oil, fuel, lubricants, soil, plants, water, report forms, and field maps.SOURCE & NATURE OF SUPERVISION

Supervised by the designated supervisor who gives general instructions as to the work to be performed.DIRECTION EXERCISED

Directs assigned workers in their individual work assignments.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Directs and monitors work performance of assigned Orchard workers/Equipment operators. Has complete knowledge of the orchard workers duties and may do any or all of their tasks. Provides training to inexperienced workers in the proper applications of pesticides for CBB/CLR treatment and other orchard maintenance operations.

Handles pesticides. Receives, stores, transports, mixes, transfers, and delivers pesticides.

Operates various tractors with interchangeable attachments to perform required work such as pesticide spraying, Air blasting, mowing, disking, or spreading materials. Controls attachments to achieve the desired results and makes necessary adjustments as needed. Connects and disconnects attachments as required.

Operates truck with tanker trailer to deliver water to application areas throughout the farm.

Operates Pruning machine when pruning required for CBB/CLR control

Utilizes personal protective equipment when handling, mixing or applying pesticides that requires their use.

Makes out daily reports as required by the supervisor such as using field maps marking areas worked, recording gallons of spray materials used, CBB/CLR hot spots and hours worked.

Operates motor vehicle and with two-way radio to perform work assignments.

Operates and assists in the maintenance of pumps, filters, gasoline engines and related pesticide application equipment.

Inspects assigned fields and records CBB/CLR infestations

Maintains and operates pesticide application equipment used for CBB/CLR treatment.

Removes infected leaves/Berry during scouting assignments

Obeys standard safety regulations and Federal Worker Protection Standards (WPS).

Does other related work as required or directed by supervisor.
