Job Summary
The Supply Chain and Operations Management Department invites candidates to apply for a 2-year postdoctoral position. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team working on Statistical Learning and Decision Intelligence for Supply Chain and Operations Optimization. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of Statistical Machine Learning and Generative Artificial Intelligence, Stochastic Modeling and Optimization, and Data-driven Decision-making with applications in supply chain and operations management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with industry partners, publish in top-tier journals, and develop innovative methodologies for real-world challenges in supply chain and operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and apply advanced statistical machine learning, reinforcement learning, and gen-AI-driven decision models for supply chain and operations optimization.
• Design scalable algorithms for demand forecasting, risk management, strategic sourcing, inventory control and supply chain optimization, pricing and revenue management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and industry partners to translate research into practical solutions.
• Publish high-impact research in leading journals (e.g., Management Science, Operations Research, MSOM, POM, JASA, JMLR etc.).
• Assist in mentoring graduate students and contributing to grant proposals.
• Participate in teaching undergraduate courses (6 credit hours per year)
Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong background in convex analysis, statistical machine learning (reinforcement learning, LLM and generative modeling), stochastic modeling and optimization.
• Proficiency in programming (Python, R, Julia, or similar) and experience with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Prior research in statistical learning and online optimization, dynamic pricing and revenue optimization, supply chain and operations management is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
