ADS partners with artists and photographers as well as several large print-on-demand companies to print, manufacture, and ship unique, personalized wall art on a variety of substrates including glass, metal, wood, acrylic, plastic, and canvas.

Summary of Position

As a Digital Print Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our HP Indigo digital press, Reggiani, and UV Coater to produce high-quality printed materials for our customers. The Digital Print Operator also prepares the presses and materials for printing. This job is primarily responsible for creating high-quality finished products that are then sent to other areas of production, as well as maintaining all presses and print department equipment.

This is a full-time position. Benefits are available after the required waiting periods, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. The schedule for this position varies based on need but the standard schedule is Monday-Friday 6 am-2:30 pm. Overtime may be required periodically based on order volume.

Duties and responsibilities

Operate high-resolution digital print systems (specifically HP Indigo and EFI Reggiani) to produce high quality direct to object prints

Evaluate output and adjust as necessary to obtain desired quality; troubleshoot machine malfunctions and flaws in print quality

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance, replenish consumables, and replace parts with the support of technicians

Meet daily print production deadlines while adhering to high-quality standards

Achieve competency and meet standards regarding setup and run times as established by the company

Review daily order volumes to ensure correct product components and quantities in preparation for subsequent steps in the production process

Verify colors by matching customer requirements; verify ink adhesion to substrate; color calibration

Organize supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, paper, substrates, and other items as needed; report to the manager when inventory is getting low

Ensure proper material handling, conditioning, and loading; report material damage to the manager

Maintain clean and organized working environment, including routine cleaning and maintenance of all equipment

Practice safe working habits in accordance with all safety policies and procedures

Cooperate with all co-workers, customers, and vendors projecting a positive and supportive attitude

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

Must report to work on time, alert, and ready for production at designated start time

Proficient communication skills and demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy and understanding of customer order specifications

Highly detail-oriented, organized, and focused on quality

Must understand vague and implicit instructions and respond favorably in all work situations

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into units of measure; basic measuring skills and ability to read a ruler and other measurement devices

Working knowledge of image editing application, especially Adobe Photoshop

Experience running HP Indigo DFE and/or other printer presses, digital print systems and/or UV flatbed printer and/or UV roll coater

Experience using desktop applications and DFE color correction

Knowledge and technical competency in the digital print field required

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and/or performing repetitive tasks

Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to stand, bend, squat, lift, etc.
