LOADER AND FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Summary:

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Jefferson, OH branch has an opening on our production team for a Loader (Forklift Operator).

This is a permanent full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Depending on experience, starting pay ranges from $17.50 to $19.50.

Regular hours for this position are Monday thru Friday 7am-3:30pm. Overtime including working on weekends may be required.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

Safely operating a forklift to load Metal Sales multi-stop trucks.

Ensuring product is damage free and piece counts match order.

Visually inspecting trailer before loading and reporting anything unusual.

Assisting in unloading & loading of Common Carrier trucks as needed.

Safely hook up and maneuver a pick-up truck/gooseneck trailer and a tractor/semi-trailer.

Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting in other departments as needed.

The most qualified candidates will have:

Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment

Ability to safely operate a forklift

Basic math skills, including ability to read a tape measure

Ability to work independently and with others

High school diploma or GED

Valid driver's license

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to read, hear, talk, drive lift trucks, wear PPE, and lift up to 75 lbs. repetitively

Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit approximately 7 hours minimum per work shift

Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months

Noise level is moderate to loud
