ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

DESCRIPTION
This position provides support to the General Manager and will help lead and direct, lead, and motivate the operations team to achieve safety, food safety, operational, Human Resources, and financial goals. The individual in this position must have a strong operational background, both in harvest and fab. They will assist with maintaining performance in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the facility, along with monitoring safety, yields, and efficiencies of all departments. This position will be involved in supplementing all critical planning functions to include, but not limited to, labor relations, planning, expense management, labor, efficiencies, safety, workers' compensation, ergonomics, management and development, succession planning, supply/material procurement, and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall owner of Plant KPIs, including but not limited to:
Safety Culture Implementation, and execution
Turnover/Absenteeism
Yield Goal Attainment
Coordinates the development of RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis) and Action plans to solve problems and make improvements
Responsible for Production Efficiency Attainment
Responsible for Food Safety & Quality
Responsible for Plant Schedule attainment
Responsible for delivering KPI’s including Inventory & Plant Costs
Responsible for managing several groups of personnel
Responsible for setting the culture for the facility and upholding JBS Values
Gives work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work
Monitors and analyzes costs and helps prepare annual budgets
Manages and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team, including Safety, Quality, HR, Finance, Maintenance & Engineering
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work 40+ hours per week in production areas. Exposed to all hazards present, including slippery floors, machinery, noise, extreme temperature variations, etc.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of six years of beef business experience with experience in plant operations, with two years superintendent level or above
Must have a strong operational background, both in harvest and fab
Understanding of OSHA,EPA, USDA regulations and requirements
Team player with effective communication skills
Strong math & reading/comprehension skills
Computer skills such as Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Educational background considered an asset. Consideration will be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to work in very cold, damp, loud environments with slick floors
Must be able to work flexible hours, including some overtime and weekends
