BAE Systems is a world leader in flight critical controls and avionics and is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we are seeking a highly experienced Contracts Senior Director who have demonstrated the ability of leading and managing a broad and complex portfolio of programs throughout the project lifecycle. In CAS, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics for both commercial and military platforms – whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. CAS is a $1+b, transatlantic business with major facilities in Endicott, New York; Rochester, United Kingdom; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Guaymas, Mexico. The business is headquartered in Endicott, NY.
We are open to hiring this leader near any major BAE site with additional travel expectations to Endicott, NY. Major BAE sites include Southern NH, Cedar Rapids IA, Greenlawn NY, Wayne NJ, Fort Wayne IN, Huntsville AL, Austin TX, Manassas VA, and San Diego CA. The ideal work schedule for this position is hybrid with 2-3 days per week in the office expectations and we are considering full time remote talent.
The Role:
This position is for the Controls and Avionics Solutions Senior Contracts Director, an essential member of the Contracts and business area leadership team. The position requires a highly organized and deeply experienced Contracts professional in both the commercial and DoD acquisition environments with strong leadership, management and influencing skills. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the Contracts organization, supporting the development and growth of employees, and carrying out the vision of the function as well as the overall strategy for the business area.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides expert guidance and counsel to the business area VP/GM and adjoining leadership team, while setting functional direction through strategic, legal, and financial analysis.
Collaborates with senior external customers and stakeholders in the pursuit of new business opportunities and the resolution of significant contractual and business issues.
Provides leadership direction to a global team in the strategic development, management, and deployment of human capital resources in support of the business strategy.
Responsible for directing multiple defense and commercial contracting environments while ensuring compliance to critical business processes and performance execution to help organization deliver positive financial performance throughout all acquisition phases.
Provides functional leadership and oversight of large, complex Customer proposals
Establishes and maintains teaming, consultant, and representative agreements
Provides functional oversight on Joint Ventures with multinational companies

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience in Commercial, International, and US Government Contracting with understanding of both Commercial and Military Aircraft markets.
Ability to influence key stakeholders throughout the organization; recommend, drive and implement change based on best practices in the U.S. Aerospace & Defense industry.
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
Significant Proposal Preparation experience
Strong knowledge and experience with intellectual property protection strategies and policies.
Proven leadership in the development of high performing and inclusive teams.
Business acumen and ability to develop and provide guidance of a strategic nature regarding customers, top line growth and overall performance of the business area.

NCMA Certifications/involvement in local chapter
