Summary/Objective:

The clinician/clinical supervisor reports to the Regional Director of Care Coordination and Management and is responsible for ensuring that the medically related emotional and social needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Essential Functions:

• Supervises staff in the provision of TBS services.

• Assures that supervisees help clients and families identify needs and develop a service plan to meet those needs.

• Assures that staff orients, clients and families, the program, its services, its limitations, and clients’ rights.

• Supervises and provides licensure sign-off for clients and families in treatment planning and assures their attendance at care conferences or with outside providers/professionals.

• Supervises and/or attends scheduled care conferences and identifies and interprets the needs of clients for inclusion in the care plan.

• Supervises staff to assure mandatory documentation within timelines established by applicable regulations and policies.

• Mediates issues that arise among clients, families, and staff.

• Provides and trains staff about linkage with appropriate community resources by maintaining knowledge of other systems, making referrals, and identifying unmet needs (e.g., recreational transportation, adaptive phone equipment, etc.).

• Supervises staff and Provides clients and families with crisis management services as needed. • Assures that staff develops a comprehensive discharge plan in collaboration with clients, client’s families, multidisciplinary staff, and referral agencies.

• Trains and consults with staff regarding psychosocial needs that encompass behavioral health, social skills development, linkage to resources, and diversity of individual clients to increase staff knowledge and skills.

• Educates staff about any relevant state legislation or regulations relating to behavioral health services.

• Advocates on a case, policy, and program level.

• Participates in policy decision-making in a way that encompasses an understanding of the issues and implications relevant to the coordination of client care, and the developmental and behavioral health needs of clients.

• Monitors and assures that staff maintains productivity requirements. Provide clinical review and audit of clients’ charts and documentation to ensure compliance and support quality improvement.

• Provide clinical and training supervision to QMHP and LSW staff.

• Oversees services provided by QMHP and LSW staff and cosigns documentation.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field.

• 1-2 years of experience providing case management/care coordination.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Licensure:

• Licensed as a clinician with the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapists Board.

• Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant. (Training will be provided, if not already certified).

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Three years’ experience in a behavioral health care setting, working directly with individuals with behavioral health needs.

• One to two (1-2) years’ experience case management/care coordination supervisory experience

• Experience working with people with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays.

• Independent Licensure with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and support agencies.

• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and at times hostile clients/family members.

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

• Valid Ohio Driver's License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance; insurable driving record (five points or fewer).

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises QMHP’s and LSWs., Qualified Mental Health Specialists (QMHS), and Care Management specialists (CMS). This position is required to have biweekly or monthly supervision with the Regional Director of Care Coordination and Case Management.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment; however, work in the community providing services outside of the office may at times be required depending on clinical need. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, working at least 40-45 hours per week. This position operates Monday through Friday during regular business hours; however, there will often be times in which the requirement will include extending hours into 2-3 evenings a week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
