Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Description
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a vital role in the warehouse operations, ensuring efficient handling of goods and materials. You will be responsible for reading work orders, picking and packing materials for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, verifying product quality, keeping track of inventory, and maintaining cleanliness of the facility and work stations. Additionally, you will weigh or measure materials, ingredients, and products to ensure conformance to requirements and transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools.
Responsibilities
Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
Pick and pack materials for shipment.
Load and unload trucks.
Verify product quality and prepare for shipping.
Keep track of inventory.
Maintain cleanliness of the facility and work stations.
Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, and products to ensure conformance to requirements.
Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools.Essential Skills
Experience within a manufacturing setting.
Ability to lift 30 - 40 lbs throughout the day.
High attention to detail.
Ability to understand basic math equations.
High School Diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of production/mfg environment including metrics, quotas, and expectations.
Ability to read a 'recipe' to dump materials into mixers.
Prior forklift experience preferred.Why Work Here

Work Environment
The position is based in a manufacturing environment that is air-conditioned in the batch-making area, although other areas may be warm. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with two 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Some Saturdays may be required, with full-time direct employees having first refusal for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
