The role:
As a Data Governance Lead, you will help drive our goals by:
Stakeholder engagement & leadership – collaborate with data owners, IT teams, and business leaders to define and implement data governance strategies. Provide training and advocacy to ensure best practices are embedded across the organization.
Strategy & planning – contribute to the Data Governance Target Operating Model, ensuring alignment with digital, IT, and business strategies. Identify and prioritize initiatives that enhance data governance and compliance.
Innovation & continuous improvement – assess and enhance existing data governance policies, integrating industry best practices and emerging trends. Represent the company in industry forums and evaluate tools for investment.
Technical capability & implementation – develop and oversee data governance frameworks, including data quality management, classification, security, retention, and compliance. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and secure access to data.
Data culture & awareness – promote a data-driven mindset by delivering training, mentoring, and awareness programs. Foster accountability for data quality and governance across the organization.
Leadership & team development – cultivate a high-performance culture within the data governance function, encouraging ownership, continuous learning, and professional development.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
Data Governance leadership – proven experience in defining, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks, including golden records management.
Commercial acumen – experience in managing cost centres and optimizing supplier relationships.
Inspirational leadership – ability to lead, mentor, and influence both direct and cross-functional teams.
Business systems expertise – extensive experience in full lifecycle platform implementation and ongoing support.
Change management – skilled in driving business transformation and leading adoption of new ways of working.
English - fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
