The Role

Directs and coordinates cycle counting of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.

What you will be responsible for:

Responsible for work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow within the Receiving Department.

Manage policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.

Manage the activities of the department, under the direction of the Materials Manager and/or designee follow established procedures and approved processes.

Creation and maintain a Cycle count methodology to ensure all warehouse inventories are counted according to schedule. based on part classifications set by Kelvion.

Methodology to include:

Develop KPIs for Cycle counts.

Daily Cycle count list by warehouse, schedule for different days.

Reconciliation of cycle counts. Work with Inventory analyst

Review and provide documentation regarding reconciliation activities, to include history of parts through the production cycle.

Store Cycle counts documentation on the Kelvion server, designated by Warehouse and date.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to complete cycle counts daily

Create a cycle count schedule for each of the Kelvion warehouses. Emphasis on Cimarron, Marion, and Parkway. Plan separate counts for Finished goods warehouses emphasis of a 100% target count.

A Parts are counted 8 times a month

B Parts are counted 6 times a month

C Parts are counted 2 per Quarter

X Parts are counted 4 – 6 times per month

Z Parts are counted 1 every 180 days

Regularly communicate with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all equipment in the department.

Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bring problems to the attention of the Safety Manager/Technician or HR Manager.

Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.

Issue written and oral instructions to staff regarding work within the department; assign duties and ensure that instructions are carried out accordingly.

Examine work for exactness, neatness, and compliance to policies and procedures; study processes continually and implement process improvements.

Responsible for unity among workers and resolving grievances swiftly and decisively.

Conduct annual performance review and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance

Conduct weekly safety meetings; monitor quality of work performed in accordance with the company’s Quality Plan

Plan for the number of people required per position in accordance with the budget.

Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.

Confer with other managers in the shop to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assurance.

Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.

Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site.

Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.

Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to supervise 10 to 20 non-exempt employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Directing employees’ work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

COMPUTER SKILLS

Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Minimum 5 years in general management experience in a manufacturing environment required.
