Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Locate and assess current production parts and/or vendor samples

Review and validate legacy 3D CAD data against actual product specifications

Edit and update 3D CAD files in SolidWorks as needed to match production standards

Integrate and organize product data into the company’s SolidWorks PDM system

Create and/or revise detailed 2D engineering drawings for inspection and quality assurance

Produce assembly drawings and visual BOMs to aid manufacturing and product validation

Rename and manage CAD files within SolidWorks PDM per internal part number standards within NetSuite

Collaborate with on-site engineers for physical measurements, part inspections, and opportunities for product improvement

Engage in brainstorming / problem solving with greater engineering team on items

Create presentation of accomplishments throughout the summer and present to engineering team and leadership.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field

Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)

Strong understanding of 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation

Familiarity with manufacturing or production processes is a plus

Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Internship Format

On-site preferred: especially if only one intern is hired, due to the need to interact with physical parts and engineering teams.

Remote option available for highly qualified candidates, particularly if multiple interns are selected to support collaborative workflows.

Candidates should be able to dedicate consistent, focused work hours during the summer period, whether working on-site or remotely.

The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. without assistance.

Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer and perform repetitive tasks.

Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.

Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
