Truck driver - Edmonton

-Location: 7350 - 68th Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 0A1

-Salary: $29.50 to $34.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 35 to 44 hours per week

-Terms of employment: Permanent employment; Full-time

-Hours: Day; Early morning; Overtime may be required to finish delivery schedule

-Start date: Starts as soon as possible

Responsibilities

Tasks:

-Load and unload goods

-Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

-Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

-Receive and relay information to central dispatch

-Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

-Transport tools and equipment on push or hand cars

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:

-Air Brakes Endorsement

-Driver's licence (Class 3 or D)

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge:

-Inspection report (pre-trip, en route, post-trip)

Communication systems experience:

-Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Additional information

Security and safety:

-Driving record check (abstract): Upon hire and requires once per year

-Drug test: Upon hire

Transportation/travel information:

-Drive manual transmission vehicle

-Valid driver's licence

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

-Handling heavy loads; Large workload; Physically demanding; Sitting; Bending, crouching, kneeling
