This position supervise labor trades consisting of carpenters, pipefitters, electricians, painters, millwrights, laborers, HVAC, and sheet metal workers performing maintenance and repair work. Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising assigned operations and maintenance activities.
Other duties include:
Responsible for overall work quality, efficiency and productivity.
Work closely with Planner and Estimators.
Receive and review service requests and work orders submitted by the customer
Maintain a database of all customers submitted and internal service requests and/ or work orders
Track all service orders and work orders to completion.
Assist the customer in submitting service requests and work orders to ensure accuracy and completeness as necessary.
Approve the completed work order by action trades and determine if quality of work is acceptable.
Provide follow-up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide weekly and monthly Sit Reps to management as required.
Responsible for the supervision of maintenance, repair, construction, and operation of facilities to ensure cost effective and reliable support.
Coordinate and administer subcontracts in assigned areas of responsibility as required.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of four (4) years as supervisor or equivalent experience required.
Must possess a journeyman license or equivalent trade school/apprenticeship program credentials in a specific trade (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Water/Wastewater Treatment).
Previous power generation and electrical utilities knowledge and experience preferred.
Requires operating application software including word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
Experience in a leadership position demonstrating the ability to analyze Facilities Maintenance related problems (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Cranes and Hoists, etc.); then recognize and determine solutions (engineered or otherwise) for resolution. This includes but is not limited to; opportunities for improved asset reliability, improved quality results, safer work conditions, and lower maintenance cost, improved work plans to increase efficiency.
Working knowledge of the functions and operations of military commands or government agencies.
Knowledge of business practices and procedures plus facility planning management.
Excellent Supervisory, leadership, planning, decision making and scheduling skills.
Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
Knowledge of methods, materials, practices, and equipment generally used in the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of open and closed water supply and distribution systems preferred.
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
Position may require travel.
Common Access Card required.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work environment is contract specific and may range from a typical office environment to remote living and working conditions. Candidates could be required to lift 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
