Description
Primary Function The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for strategically leading and overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's complex IT infrastructure. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive short- and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives, recruiting and retaining top talent, establishing and enforcing robust policies and procedures, and continuously monitoring the performance of server systems to ensure they are secure, highly available, and performant.
The Director collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure strategies with business goals and industry best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Strategic Planning:
Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to a team of technical engineers
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
Develop and implement strategic goals aligned with organizational objectives
Drive technology adoption and transformation initiatives to enhance IT capabilities
Infrastructure Strategy & Execution:
Oversee the design, implementation, and management of enterprise IT infrastructure
Lead high-impact infrastructure projects and initiatives to enhance system capabilities and support business goals
Ensure high availability, security, and performance of IT systems across multiple locations
Utilize performance reports and analytics to continuously improve infrastructure performance and support decision-making
Talent Management & Team Development:
Recruit, retain, and develop staff to maintain a high-performing infrastructure team
Establish clear performance expectations and provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
Build a diverse and inclusive technical team that supports long-term organizational success
Policies, Procedures, & Compliance:
Establish and enforce advanced policies, procedures, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
Ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards and best practices -
Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal governance policies
Technical Problem-Solving & Risk Management:
Proactively coordinate and resolve complex technical issues to minimize service disruptions
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to infrastructure security and operational continuity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with senior management to align infrastructure strategies with overall business objectives
Provide technical advice and expertise on the evaluation, purchase, upgrading, and maintenance of infrastructure resources
Engage with industry peers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to stay ahead of emerging trends and best practices
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Experience: 10+ years of experience in infrastructure management with a proven track record of managing complex systems and leading technical teams in a large enterprise environment
Technical Expertise:
Strong leadership and project management skills
Expertise in both on-premises and cloud solutions - Experience with cybersecurity, risk management, and modern infrastructure practices -
Strong knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and operational best practices
Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CISSP, or similar credentials
Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships
Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI-driven infrastructure management and zero-trust security models
