About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the company’s accounting operations and financial management. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining effective internal controls, leading the accounting team, and supporting strategic decision-making. Experience with NetSuite is required.
This position is hybrid (3 days in office in downtown Tempe, 2 days at home, and in office as needed for team meetings or collaboration sessions). Please do not apply if you cannot meet these requirements.

What You Will Be Doing:
Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department, and drive the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close and reporting process.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
Responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and the General Ledger.
Directly oversee cash flow management to include reporting, analysis, and cash flow forecast.
Own and manage the annual audit process with external audit partners to ensure GAAP compliance.
Responsible for managing tax compliance, to include annual tax return filings to sales tax compliance and recording.
Manage and maintain the financial ERP, NetSuite, and will have extensive experience with financial systems.
Communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Establish and maintain banking relationships along with certain vendors such as Stripe/Routable to effectively manage the finances of the business.
Present and communicate effectively to both the executive leadership team and the broader group.
Responsible for managing and administering all payroll and compensation-related items.
This position will manage the accounting team, which currently has 4 employees.

Requirements
What You Bring to the Team by Way of Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
CPA certification highly preferred.
Previous experience with private equity-backed companies preferred.
Proficiency with accounting and financial (ERP) software, specifically, NetSuite, along with working knowledge of other applicable vendor software such as third-party payment processing platforms (Stripe & Routable).
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and business tax regulations.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities along with professionalism and diplomacy with internal and external customers and vendors.
Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software).
Ability to recognize problems, strategize, and problem solve.
Previous experience managing an accounting team/department.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
