Primary purpose:
Helps with the identification and solving of problems through analytics and statistical models using data analytics, programming, and statistical models. This position works under guidance in using a broad range of data sources to perform assigned data related tasks to answer specific questions.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Data Interpretation and Problem Solving
Interprets a wide range of data to answer specific business questions.
Helps to solve problems by breaking them down into quantitative analysis.
Assists in implementing the data analytics lifecycle, i.e., identify, collect, clean, analyze, interpret, and display data.
Data Collection and Preparation
Receives and understands end-user requirements to collect the required data.
Uses automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
Cleans, orders, and prepares data for future use.
Assists with the verification of data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
Identifies gaps in datasets and assists in building datasets from scratch.
Removes corrupted data and fixes coding errors and related problems.
Updates databases to reflect changes in systems or business data requirements.
Data Analysis and Insights
Helps to analyze the data to identify past patterns, trends, and to forecast (predict) what may happen in the future.
Uses data mining techniques and statistics to gain insights and discover patterns in data that could lead to actionable recommendations.
Translates data into easily understood terms and communicates insights and recommendations.
Remains focused on exploration and problem-solving.
Data Visualization and Technology Awareness
Assists with the creation of visualizations such as dashboards and/or graphs.
Remains current on developments such as cloud computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc
