Senior Accounting Manager (Hybrid) – Vienna, Austria

Role Responsibilities

Leading the local accounting team including oversight of and providing direction to outsourced service providers and allocating resources to ensure a timely completion of work.

Being accountable for the regular monthly routine processes and controls: journal entries revision, trial balance analytical review, analysis of complex balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP and Western Union accounting policies and regular internal control processes

Preparing standalone financial statements and regulatory filings according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (UGB, IFRS, US GAAP) and managing the audit process

Close cooperation with local Controlling and understanding the Group requirements for Management Accounting (Cost Centre, Product Group, Business Area, Country)

Ensuring compliance with local tax requirements (Corporate income tax, VAT Reporting for AT, DE, IT, ES, FR, PL) and managing local Tax Audits

Ensures compliance of local accounting principles, practices and guidelines- The incumbent will work closely with the CFO of Western Union International Bank. Cooperating with auditors and tax advisors.

Manage complex and innovative accounting projects

Compliance with global process standards and main contact person for clarifications and development of proposed solutions

Providing leadership in initiating and implementing process improvements.

Role Requirements

Fully qualified in one of the following: ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA and an University degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent (Bilanzbuchhalter) along with 5+ years’ qualified experience in accounting

Strong knowledge of UGB, US GAAP, IFRS, monthly accounting routine processes, general local tax requirements and statutory reporting requirements.

Previous experience in preparing financial statements and experience in collaboration with auditors during preparation and review of audit material is a prerequisite for this role.

Previous experience with Oracle and Blackline is a plus

Demonstrate strong people management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower and motivate people and a desire and ability to take a strong leadership role and influence actions to create real change. Comfortable in interacting with stakeholders across the organization

Fluency in English and German, both verbally and written.

Salary

We are under legal obligation to indicate the minimum salary, which is EUR 78.657 gross per year for this position. However, our attractive compensation packages follow current market salaries and can therefore be significantly above the indicated minimum salary.
