A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HR ASSISTANT As our HR Assistant, your role is at the core of successfully accomplishing our mission.
If our employees are the engine that powers our high energy, world-class service culture, you are part of the fuel that powers that engine as you provide support to our human resources staff.
Employing your exceptional organizational skills, you coordinate and schedule meetings, interviews, training, seminars, and human resources events.
Your attention to detail is essential as you perform various administrative tasks including document scanning and data entry.
In addition, you are responsible for maintaining our human resources intranet site.
You carefully compile and track data to create reports on general human resources activity.
Though you do spend a lot of time doing administrative tasks, you also use your stellar interpersonal skills to excel in this position.
You act as the first point of contact for internal and external HR-related queries as you answer the telephone and route calls appropriately.
To assist with the recruitment process, you conduct background checks, complete reference checks, and update our database of applicants.
With your warm demeanor, you put potential hires at ease as you assist with administering the required testing.
You also get to represent our department on internal employee relations committees.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HR ASSISTANT Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Ability to maintain intermediate knowledge of credit union products and services Ability to keep up on laws governing credit unions, hiring, and employment Valid driver's license An associate's degree in human resources or plans to pursue one is preferred.
Previous experience in a financial institution or as an administrative assistant is highly desirable.
