The Property Management team is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as Building Operator in Saskatoon.
As an important member of our service-oriented team, you will be responsible for providing customer comfort and service by ensuring a safe environment to our customers and clients. You will respond to client requests and ensure facilities and equipment are safe and in good operating readiness. You will also perform routine maintenance including all minor repairs and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment, as well as operating and maintaining manual and other equipment; lawn care, snow removal, climbing ladders, lifting, and/or carrying heavy objects. You will perform security procedures, maintain stock and supplies, and ensure facility and equipment is safe and meets operating standards. You will also be responsible for the supervision of other Ministry staff in the building.
The successful candidate will have the ability to supervise staff, work independently and as a team member, prioritize work, perform maintenance procedures on buildings and grounds, understand and correctly apply cleaning and maintenance standards, safely operate and maintain equipment.
This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with ministry safety standards and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Employment Standards.
We are looking for a problem solver and a leader with proven ability and interest in supervising employees and performing maintenance procedures. The ideal candidate will bring a 5th Class Engineers Certification or Fireman’s Certification and Refrigeration Engineer Certificate as well as at least two years experience in building maintenance, heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Experience in DDC controls would be an asset and a valid driver’s license is required.
