Fitter/Fabricator

Position: Fitter/Fabricator Location/s: Ashland, VA Duration: 3 months contract to hire Shift: 1st Shift Schedule (offering work-life balance with Saturdays as needed) Pay Rate: Up to $25.00/Hour (Depending on experience) Benefits/Incentives: Insurance Offered (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.) Qualdoc is seeking experienced Flux Core Welders and Welder/Fitters for our client in Ashland, VA.

This role will be responsible for welding heavy industrial structural steel equipment and components using shop drawings for fabrication.

This position is a contract with the potential to go full-time based on performance and business needs.

Overtime 50-56 hours weekly!

Requirements:

Experience in Flux Core Arc welding

Able to pass a Full Penetration Vertical Weld test

Able to pass a Fillet Overhead weld test

Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards

Able to read shop drawings

Able to read AWS weld symbols

Able to lift 50 lbs

Have your own welding and safety equipment (welding helmet, gloves, and steel toes)

Shift:

Monday - Friday with some Saturdays as required

1st shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (10 hours a day)

Benefits:

One year after hire, PTO of 16 days (accrued throughout the year)
