Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Job Summary of the Purchasing Manager: The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for acquiring all purchased components on time, following up on purchasing issues, monitoring inventory levels, and managing freight.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager:
• Daily purchasing functions include creating and following up on purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, communicating with vendors, and managing freight.
• Operating the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to manage inventory data and the processing of orders.
• Negotiating favorable pricing and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness for the company.
• Organizing the logistics of incoming and outgoing deliveries to ensure timeliness and cost-efficiency.
• Evaluating, improving, implementing, and documenting procurement functions.
• Maintaining bills of material and product data to support the manufacturing system software.
• Overseeing the receiving function, which includes verification of incoming shipments, quality control, material handling, and documentation and record keeping.
• Utilizing and practicing methods of continuous improvement.
• Performing general administrative duties as needed to meet administrative support needs.
• Complying with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules.
Education & Experience of the Purchasing Manager:
• 3-5 + years of manufacturing procurement experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process equipment and basic knowledge of hydraulics and 12v electrical.
• Broad based supply chain management and process development knowledge.
• Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and logistics effectively.
• PC software skills and some ERP knowledge.
• Strong time management skills and customer focus.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to effectively collaborate and communicate with internal teams and external vendors to streamline purchasing processes.
• Must be proficient with computers and have experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Must be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytical abilities.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
