Key Responsibilities:

CAD Design and Engineering:

Oversee the creation of 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for aluminum and steel structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.

Review and approve designs, providing technical expertise and recommendations for improvement.

Collaborate with the R&D team to explore new materials and design concepts that align with industry trends and standards.

Project Management:

Manage the design phase of projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project timelines.

Work closely with project managers to provide technical support and address design-related issues during the manufacturing process.

Coordinate with clients, addressing design concerns and modifications, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Quality Assurance:

Implement and maintain quality control processes for CAD designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Technology and Software Management:

Stay current with industry trends, CAD technologies, and software tools.

Evaluate, implement, and manage CAD software updates and new technologies to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the design team.

Ensure that information in CAD is correct and information between CAD and SAGE is seamless. This includes information in both the Inventory Management and Bill of Materials modules.

Collaboration and Communication:

Foster effective communication and collaboration between the design team and other departments.

Act as a liaison between the manufacturing facility in Ventura, CA, and the administrative office in Knoxville, TN, ensuring alignment in design goals and objectives.

Compliance and Regulations:

Stay informed about industry-specific regulations, standards, and certifications applicable to aerospace and DOD projects.

Ensure that all designs meet relevant compliance requirements and industry standards (ANSI E1.2 and E1.21) and the Aluminum Welding Code (D1.2).
