Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and providing analytical support to the management team. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the month-end and year-end close processes in a timely and accurate manner
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and approval
Perform daily bank and system transaction reconciliations
Complete monthly general ledger account reconciliations
Conduct bank account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Analyze financial data and provide variance analyses to management
Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis
Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports
Support the accounting team during audits and special projects
Monitor compliance with established accounting policies and procedures
Assist with manufacturing cost accounting as needed
Additional Responsibilities
Provide support to the CFO and other accounting team members
Participate in cross-functional teams and committees as requested
Work extended hours during peak periods or for special projects when required
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
Assist with industry-specific reporting related to operations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Experience with inventory accounting and cost allocation is a plus
