JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Visual Education Associate with a keen interest in sustainability. This associate position offers a unique opportunity to work on projects that align with our commitment to mindful manufacturing practices. As a Visual Education Associate, you will collaborate with our communications team to create visually compelling educational materials that promote sustainable initiatives and extend the reach of the ReCreateIt project to the broader Austin community.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Responsiblities:
Develop and design educational campaigns to promote understanding of our 3D printing manufacturing initiative to a wider audience.
Manage and create visually engaging content for social media platforms, ensuring consistent brand representation and audience engagement.
Translate technical research and design concepts into visually engaging and accessible content for public outreach.
Track and report on metrics to document project impact for federal award requirementsContent Creation
Create eye-catching social media graphics, infographics, and visual content that highlight the environmental and socioeconomic benefits of our manufacturing process.
Design infographics and visual materials that simplify and explain plastic recycling technology, making complex concepts easy to understand through clear and engaging visuals.
Design visually compelling presentation materials for community workshops and industry events, ensuring the content is both informative and visually impactful.Community Engagement
Assist with public workshops and demonstrations of our sustainable manufacturing system
Support relationships with local schools, community centers, and environmental organizations
Manage public inquiries about our federal research initiative and manufacturing processDigital Marketing
Assist in maintaining a project website with current information about research progress and manufacturing innovations
Implement SEO strategies to increase public awareness of plastic waste solutions
Manage social media accounts to build community engagement around sustainable manufacturingGrant Support
Assist with documentation of public outreach activities for federal research award reports
Track engagement metrics to demonstrate project impact and public education outcomes
Support grant compliance by ensuring all marketing materials properly acknowledge federal fundingMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public education
Demonstrated writing and content creation skills
Experience with common social media platforms and basic digital marketing tools
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and basic design tools
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with sustainability initiatives, environmental education, or waste management
Knowledge of circular economy concepts
Graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Community outreach experience
SEO and website management experience
Experience translating technical or scientific information for general audiences
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional lifting and carrying of marketing materials and display items (up to 25 pounds)
Travel to community events, workshops, and demonstration sites
Some weekend or evening availability required for community events
Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment
Ability to stand for extended periods during workshops and presentations
Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods
