Overall Purpose of the Position
To supervise, guide, direct, coordinate and schedule the general banking activities within the Branch ensuring that customers are given the best possible service and that work is efficiently performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Operational Responsibilities
To supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of Clerk/Officers (General Banking), ensuring that work is efficiently performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
To ensure that posts within the Branch are adequately manned at all times.
To perform cashiering and other clerical duties as and when required.
To ensure that all transactions (including ATM transactions) are balanced and reconciled.
To be knowledgeable and conversant with the Bank’s Retail Procedures, products, website and automated channels.
To promote and cross sell the Bank’s products and services and assist customers with the respective terms and conditions to make the most effective use of services.
To ensure that the branch has an appropriate meet and greet function and queue management at all times.
To ensure the protection of the Bank's interests through adequate documentation and adherence to the various laws and regulations.
To assist subordinates in their daily duties and effectively supervise their interaction with customers.
To perform regular rotation of duties, providing the necessary on-the-job training in the process.
To carry out regular and timely branch reconciliations, control reviews and snap checks, ensure adherence to policies and procedures and conduct regular general checks.
To adjust errors and to address complaints, when required, subject to authorisation by Branch Manager.
To ensure that the Branch has adequate cash float to service customers’ requests.
To manage the Branch vault and be the main administrator of the Branch vault on the Bank’s main I.T. system.
To authorise referrals.
To direct subordinates in their work objectives.
To assist the Branch Manager in seeking potential business connections.
To ensure that all measures related to security and staff safety are being followed.
General Responsibilities
To submit any reports and/or supervise any projects and activities as may be directed from time to time.
To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained at all times particularly in the public areas which are to be orderly and welcoming.
To ensure compliance with Bank’s policies, guidelines and underlying procedures (including anti-money laundering and cash handling procedures) at all times.
To assist their manager in the preparation of the unit’s business plan and underlying budgets.
Ambassador of APS Bank and be able to actively promote the brand.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

Have good verbal and written communication skills.
Possess the necessary leadership skills to carry out the role.
Be reliable, organised, meticulous and prepared to work under pressure.
Be able to work independently, with minimum guidance.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & interpersonal skills, particularly negotiating skills.
Be computer literate and conversant in MS Office applications.
Experience
Have a number of years working experience within the general banking section of a branch.
Qualification
Possess or in the process of obtaining a qualification in banking, finance or related field.
