Staff Accountant

Job Description

Position Summary: RJ Lee Group is seeking a Staff Accountant who will assist the Controller in the maintenance of the general ledger and other accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in a broad range of financial tasks, while applying a strong foundation in accounting principles, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health of the organization. This is an on-site position at our Plum, PA location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Assist in month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

Support overall operations of the Accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Purchasing

Assist with external audits and tax return preparation

Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules

Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function to increase accuracy and efficiency

Participate in special projects as requiredQualifications and Requirements:

BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business required

1-2 years of progressive financial accounting experience

Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups

Experience with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics

Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Effective communication skills (written and oral) and ability to collaborate with team members across departments
