Employee Relationships Specialist-Night Shift
Job Description:
The Employee Relationships Specialist at Commonwealth Cooperage plays a key role in promoting a positive workplace by addressing employee and supervisor inquiries. This position involves navigating complex requests and providing tailored solutions to ensure employees receive timely support.
By assessing employee and departmental needs, the specialist connects cases to relevant support and delivers insightful reports on employee relations, alongside actionable recommendations to enhance engagement and retention.

Compensation: $23-$24 hourly to start, not including shift differential, and quarterly bonuses
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 pm to 5:00 am, with occasional Sunday nights scheduled.
Responsibilities of an Employee Relationships Specialist:
Answering Employee Inquiries and Providing Support: This role will help to provide information and support to employees' or supervisors' questions regarding services, benefits, and company policies that may impact employees or their departments.
Resolving Issues and Complaints: Working with management to address employee concerns, finding solutions, and ensuring prompt and consistent responses.
Policy and Procedure Guidance: Providing information and support to both employees and management on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
Performance Management: Collaborating with management to address performance issues and develop appropriate solutions.
Training and Development: Support management and employees, and conduct employee training programs.
Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data related to employee relations to identify trends, actions taken, and areas for improvement.
Exit Interviews: Conducting exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees.
Maintaining a Positive and Professional Demeanor: Representing the company in a professional and helpful manner, even when dealing with difficult situations.
Other Duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualities for the Employee Relations Specialist Role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with employees and managers.
Strong problem-solving skills
Empathy and Patience to provide support and fairness under challenging situations
Active Listening to listen to all parties and understand issues and needs
Adaptablity
Excellent computer skills or experience working in UKG systems
Time Management
Knowledge of employment law is a plus
