Software Engineer

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for a Software Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey. DUTIES: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Designer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Designer, IT Consultant, or related occupation This position requires experience with the following skills: Cloud Services including AWS; Developing software or a Microservices environment that deploys as a REST API; Building Docker images; Advanced Java memory model and streaming APIs; Performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow, and query optimization using advanced SQL and Python; Building applications that utilize JSON and XML formatted data files/service payloads for data transfer; Spring Frameworks and Maven or Gradle to resolve application dependencies; Writing Junit test cases to achieve maximum coverage; JMeter/Blaze meter to ensure scaling of product doesn't impact user experience; Orchestrating AWS service registry using Netflix API; Asset Management Domain; Writing scalable Rest API; Splunk logs mining; Event driven architecture using Apache Kafka; Using GIT and specifically setting up local GIT hub client using SSH; Drawing C4 diagram to articulate overall architecture; Jenkins and CI/CD; SOAP and REST architecture web services; ORM tools specifically Hibernate; Building service on Apache Tomcat; Cassandra nodes/architecture and Data Model design; Writing Cucumber Test cases; and J2EE architecture and Software Development using J2EE components.
