Description:

A top-tier, rapidly growing engineering firm is actively seeking a talented Geotechnical Engineer to join its dynamic team. Specializing in excavation support systems and underground infrastructure, our firm is recognized for delivering technically sound, innovative solutions for a wide range of challenging projects-especially in urban environments like New York City.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company that values technical excellence, forward-thinking collaboration, and professional growth. If you have experience in support of excavation, slope stability, and geotechnical design, this role offers the chance to work alongside some of the most respected experts in the industry while leaving a lasting impact on major infrastructure developments.

Position Overview:

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the investigation, analysis, and design of critical subsurface and support systems for both public and private projects. This includes retaining walls, shoring, foundations, and excavation systems. You'll work closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure technical excellence and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and analyze support systems for excavation in dense urban environments, including shoring, bracing, underpinning, and retaining wall structures.

Conduct geotechnical site investigations and subsurface assessments using borehole data, soil sampling, and lab testing results.

Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and geotechnical design recommendations.

Evaluate slope stability, groundwater conditions, and slide history to ensure structural integrity and safety.

Provide design input for foundation systems, including deep foundations, pile systems, and soil improvement techniques.

Support multiple geotechnical projects simultaneously, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and budgets are maintained.

Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and local agencies to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.

Assist in preparing proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.

Offer occasional on-site consultation to assess construction compliance and design execution.

Required Qualifications:

3 to 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience with a strong focus on excavation support systems and underground construction.

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred).

PE or EIT certification
