Warehouse Material Handler

Job Description

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for receiving product into the warehouse management system by following the developed standard operation procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring that all transactions are completed timely and accurately both physically and systematically. This person will work in a progressive, fast paced environment and consistently assist Falcon’s Customer Support Team in the delivery and maintenance of our product return area. Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities:

Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries

Process small package returns in a warehouse fulfillment environment

Accepts or returns merchandise according to established company procedures

Affixes bar codes, prices, and security tags as necessary

Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods to appropriate storage areas

Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages, and rejects damaged goods or hazardous goods

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods

Maintains internal record-keeping systems

Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped, and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions

Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves

Exam all storage and warehouse facilities for deterioration, damage, or conditions that put goods and hazardous goods in risk

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements

Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents

Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

At least one year of related experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at times

Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary

Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels

Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, and dirt.
