We are a well-established precision metals manufacturing company located in Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch area. We are growing and are seeking to add a CNC Machinist and/or a CNC Machinist Programmer to our team. In addition to having 5-axis machining capability, our ability to take on interesting and complex jobs is continuing to grow with our recent acquisition of several high-powered machines. Responsibilities include:
Setup/teardown of machine tools – load and/or unload jaws, fixtures, tooling as needed
Load and unload parts into/out of machines
Utilize measuring equipment for frequent inspection of in-process and finished products to control quality through the machining process. This Includes the use of micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, rail gages, etc.
Monitor cutting tools and make adjustments as needed; make machine offsets and index or change inserts as needed
Initiate tooling changes as needed to improve processes
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Create and Download CNC programs is a plus
Experience with programming of machines. Knowledge of 3D programing (SolidWorks, CamWorks, Fusion 360) or similar tools a plus.
Ability to make program changes as needed to improve processes is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Any technical/trade school training is a plus.
5+ years of Mill machining experience, preferably working with metals.
Ability to make program changes. Having actual programming experience is highly desired. A strong machinist who wants to learn more about programming and will put in the effort and time to learn is also welcome to apply.
Ability to use measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, depth gages, height gages, etc.
Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude
Ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions and work independently
Ability to read and comprehend drawings, shop routing and blueprints
A stable work history
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 3+ years of machining experience. Preference is for an experienced operator with all of the skills we are seeking. We are not looking for an entry level operator.
Ability to read and interpret CNC programs.
3D programing using SolidWorks, CamWorks, Fusion 360 or similar tools
Mictron's hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm with ocassional overtime. In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Mictron has an annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
