Job Description

A Charter Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from various destinations, including tours, corporate events, school trips, and private charters. This role requires excellent driving skills, customer service abilities, and adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a charter bus safely and efficiently on predetermined routes or customized trips.

Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations on time.

Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring passengers have a safe and pleasant experience.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and roadworthiness.

Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the bus interior and exterior.

Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and transportation regulations.

Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.

Handle emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns or medical incidents, in a calm and professional manner.

Communicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and other staff members.

Assist passengers with special needs, including loading and unloading luggage or mobility devices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A/B) with passenger (P) endorsement.

Clean driving record with no major violations.

Previous experience as a bus driver or commercial vehicle operator preferred.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning.

Ability to pass a background check, drug/alcohol test, and DOT physical exam.

Work Environment & Schedule:

Typically works full-time or part-time, depending on company needs.

May require long hours, overnight trips, or weekend availability.

Work involves sitting for long periods while driving.

Set line run schedules available for a good work/life balance

Exposure to varying weather conditions during passenger loading and unloading.
