Surgery Scheduler

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire an Surgery Scheduler.

Position available: Full-time, Days, 40 hrs/wk (8a-4:30p)

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, verifying insurance benefits, and obtaining prior authorizations for procedures and diagnostic testing. This role serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, hospital departments, and insurance companies to ensure seamless care coordination and billing compliance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical scheduling, preferably in surgical services .

Prior experience with insurance verification and authorization processes is strongly preferred.

Medical experience preferred

SKILLS

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, especially orthopedic and surgical procedures.

Proficiency in EHR systems and scheduling software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, athenahealth).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
