Summit Ventures, a dynamic investment firm with a diverse portfolio of businesses, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations across our Boat Club Division. This role will manage payroll, employee relations, compliance, and workforce expansion as we continue to scale operations.
With multiple locations across Florida, DC, Maryland, and Virginia this position requires up to 25% travel to support hiring efforts, employee engagement, and compliance across all locations. The role is based on-site in our office in Tequesta, FL.
The ideal candidate will have a strong HR background with experience in multi-location environments and possess a passion for building and maintaining an engaging workplace culture. This position requires a strategic thinker who can implement HR best practices while managing the daily functions of human resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Expansion & Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts to support our rapid growth, develop hiring strategies, and oversee onboarding processes across multiple locations.
Payroll & Benefits Management: Oversee payroll processing, employee compensation, benefits administration, and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Employee Relations & Compliance: Handle employee relations issues, investigate workplace concerns, and ensure compliance with labor laws, workplace safety policies, and company guidelines.
Performance Management: Develop and implement performance review processes, coaching strategies, and employee development programs.
HR Policy & Compliance: Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in line with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Workforce Planning & Retention: Partner with leadership to assess staffing needs, develop retention strategies, and improve employee engagement.
HR Systems & Data Management: Oversee HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), maintain employee records, and analyze HR metrics to support business decisions.
Workers' Compensation: Manage workers' compensation claims, injury reports and return to work status.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
Strong understanding of payroll processes (ADP a plus), benefits administration, and labor laws.
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to set priorities with attention to detail.
Ability to travel up to 25% to support HR operations across Florida and the DMV region.
Experience in scaling a workforce and implementing hiring strategies for high-growth businesses.
Experience in the marine, hospitality, or service-based industries is a plus.
