We collaborate closely with NASA, private space enterprises, and leading aerospace contractors to develop state-of-the-art hardware essential for space missions. We are seeking a talented, proactive Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to join our team in Wilsonville, Oregon. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with expertise in fluid, thermal, and mechanical systems, and is enthusiastic about advancing space exploration technology.Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize advanced hardware and prototypes for aerospace applications, specifically focusing on ECLSS components such as air revitalization, thermal control, and fluid management systems.

Generate and refine detailed CAD models and technical drawings of components and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring designs meet standards.

Build, instrument, and conduct rigorous testing on fluidic, thermal, and mechanical systems for laboratory research and flight-ready hardware.

Collaborate closely with NASA, prime aerospace contractors, and industry partners to meet technical and project objectives.

Author clear, precise, and comprehensive technical reports and documentation to effectively communicate project progress, results, and findings.

Participate in flight hardware qualification activities, crew training sessions, and mission support operations.

Coordinate with internal teams and external manufacturing vendors utilizing advanced fabrication techniques including additive manufacturing (3D printing) and CNC machining.Requirements

Education

Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related discipline) OR

B.S. degree with 4+ years of relevant professional experience. Candidates with significant internships or project-based experience are encouraged to apply.

Citizenship:

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with SolidWorks (preferred) or equivalent CAD software.

Strong analytical expertise in fluid dynamics, thermal systems design, and mechanical systems engineering.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, particularly additive manufacturing and CNC machining.

Advanced software proficiency: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Communication:

Excellent technical writing skills to clearly document and report on technical activities and project outcomes.

Work Style:

Ability to effectively manage individual tasks and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.Preferred Qualifications

Practical experience in fluid dynamics or thermal system design through academic research, internships, or industry projects.

Familiarity with ECLSS technologies and aerospace environmental systems (e.g., life support systems, thermal management, fluid handling).

Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition systems (DAQ), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).

Hands-on prototyping, experimental testing, and rapid design iteration experience.

Understanding of aerospace hardware qualification processes and familiarity with NASA technical standards.

Proven interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated capability in advancing projects efficiently within tight deadlines.Benefits
